The little horse therapists have been trained to work indoors. We work in a two-person team to provide a safe and fun visit! The minis are barefoot (or wear high top sneakers!) so no damage will be done to your floors. If they have an accident, we take care of it immediately and disinfect the area. Everyone, young and old, enjoys visiting with our small but mighty equines. Seniors both in assisted living still on their own as well as those with special needs (memory disorders, rehab) connect with the horses by brushing their manes, petting, hugging and sharing secrets. These visits bring the biggest smiles to the faces of those we visit, and many of our organization members are moved by the changes they see in the aftermath of the stress that has been relieved, expressions of happiness and to some, remembrances of a time long past.

 

Our Minis work wonders on our senior adults, in particular, those with memory loss and the frustrations that come with it and we have witnessed these significant changes in the people that we visit:
